2023 Tour de Big Bear Rides – August 5 & 6
Tour de Big Bear, Aug. 5 – Big Bear Cycling Association has got a lot in store for their 2022 Tour de Big Bear slated for Saturday, August 6. The Tour de Big Bear features legendary aid stations, beautiful mountain scenery, and spectacular summer weather. Southern California's Premier Car Show Destination – August 11, 12, & 13
The Big Bear Fun Run is a three-day car show held in the Village of Big Bear Lake California. The event includes about 500 pre-assigned parking spaces, a Saturday afternoon 'Cruise Around the Lake', and a Sunday morning drive-through awards presentation. The 2023 event will be our 32nd annual show. Over the years the show has earned a very favorable reputation. The Fun Run is always held over the second weekend in August. The streets are generally full of spectators, and a summer shower may develop. You're always welcome to come and check out all of the beautiful classic cars every Fun Run as well as other BBLACC car shows even if you're not a contestant! There is no admission fee for attending as a visitor. Please come and enjoy the event! There are more than 500 cars on display, many vendors for food/drinks and souvenirs as well as Big Bear Village businesses, great live music, many people with similar interests, and beautiful weather. Celebration of Eagles – August 12
The annual Celebration of Eagles provides visitors and locals an opportunity to learn more about Big Bear’s world-famous eagles, as well as the various falcons and owls that reside in the mountain community. New this year, educational presentations will feature Raptor Events with live demonstrations and interactive experiences. The festivities kick off with Rancho Rockers and a slide show featuring Big Bear’s famous eagles – Jackie and Shadow by local wildlife photographers Trish Green and Owen Phairis.
Raptor Events provides educational bird shows. Their mission is to aid in wildlife conservation efforts through education. Learn the natural behaviors of birds of prey through demonstrations of falconry and enjoy an interactive experience with Marty a Lanner Falcon, Lobo a Harris Hawk, and Ollie a Eurasian Eagle Owl. Meet these amazing raptors up close and witness flight demonstrations.
Admission is FREE, with seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Festivities include Raptor Events presentation, eagle slide show, free raffle, vendors, and photo ops. Celebration of the Eagles is at Wyatt’s Grill & Saloon, located inside the Big Bear Lake Convention Center. The Southern California Mountains Foundation is bringing back the popular Music in the Mountains series this 2023!
Take a seat under the stars at the Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheater and enjoy the best in country, classic and contemporary rock, 7,000 feet above Southern California! A ticket to a Music in the Mountains concert does more than get you into a great show, it helps to protect your public lands. Proceeds support the Southern California Mountains Foundation and its powerful conservation, recreation, and education programs: The Big Bear Discovery Center, National Children’s Forest, The Urban Conservation Corps of the Inland Empire, Fire Lookout Hosts, Off-Highway Vehicle, and Adopt-a-Trail.
